McFly will headline the Live at Ludlow Castle concert series on 25 July 2027, the promoters Futuresound Group have announced.

The band, formed in 2003, is known for hits including Five Colours In Her Hair and All About You. McFly shot to fame with their debut album Room on the 3rd Floor, which entered the UK Album Charts at number one, making them the youngest band ever to achieve this. They held that record previously held by The Beatles.

After five albums, McFly joined another band, Busted, in 2013 to form the "supergroup" McBusted. In 2018 they announced a break to focus on solo projects, but are now performing again with what Futuresound described as their "biggest and boldest offering yet".

Ludlow Castle Concerts Expanding

The Live at Ludlow Castle events have run since 2023. This summer, 50,000 people visited over two weekends to see artists including Snow Patrol, Paul Weller, The Human League, Tom Grennan, The Streets, Rick Astley, Richard Ashcroft and Scissor Sisters, supported by Corinne Bailey Rae, Miles Kane, Marc Almond, The Lightning Seeds, Heather Small and CAST.

An agreement was signed to continue the concerts until at least 2033. Futuresound said the events brought more than £1m into Ludlow in 2025.

Jack Tavernor, CEO of Powis Estates which owns the castle, said the concerts would "keep Ludlow on the map". Ian Evans, chair of Ludlow Chamber of Trade and Commerce, said his shop saw a 25% increase in trade during the concerts and described them as a "massive event" for the town.
